Set in the heart of Kingscliff on the Tweed Coast, our home base for the day is a beautifully restored retro motel that feels like stepping straight into a 70s summer holiday. Think pastel striped umbrellas, palm trees swaying over mint green fences, and a gorgeous pool that photographs like an absolute dream.

Every corner of this property is a shooting opportunity. From the vintage motel facade to the poolside setups, you’ll learn how to work with bold colour, harsh midday light, and playful styling to create images that stand out in a sea of sameness.

The newborn live shoot. Seeing how you worked with toddlers! Seriously the best. I don’t think many workshop teachers have the confidence to do a newborn shoot with lots of kids. QUESTIONS?

It’s a full day of mentoring. The start and finish times will depend on the time of the year and the location. For example, if it’s a summer workshop, it will most likely start a little later in the morning than a winter workshop and finish closer to sunset to make the most of the golden hour for the on-location session.

My mentoring welcomes everyone! From established photographers who lack the confidence to run a business, or would like to be further inspired and get a fresh new approach. To new photographers who have only just recently started their business and want to gain some strategies to get the ball rolling. I’ve specifically created my workshop to be applicable to all levels.

In short, yes! I don’t cover basic photography in this workshop. We focus more on the ins and outs of running a photography business, or starting a photography business, but we won’t be covering how to use a camera.

I’m a strong believer in everyone finding their own unique editing style, for this reason I don’t cover my own personal editing style in this workshop. I’m more than happy to answer questions and offer suggestions on ways to find your own editing style, so if this is something you want to chat about, feel free to let me know!

Heck yes there is! In fact, I encourage it. The more open the group is to asking questions and sharing their own experiences, the better. My hope is that you walk away feeling reassured, confident and with a few new friends.

This question might just be for me, but to answer it anyway, of course. My drink of choice on this occasion is bubbles, after all, we’ve got to toast to your success! Tea, snacks, and a gourmet lunch will also be provided, but we all know the cheese platter and bubbles at the end of the day is the main event.
